Job description
Primary purpose will be to provide Systems Engineering support to IPTs with strong focus on Software. Requirements decomposition, SRR/PDR/CDR support, and technical expertise for the product line that they primarily support. Additional duties to include facilitation of technical content capture from SMEs to support CDRL development, I&T consultation and support, and technical baseline updates.
- Support system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower-level requirements.
- Perform functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Assist with the generation of well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents.
- Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities.
- Support system technical performance measurement definition and tracking.
- Support the preparation of system engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed.
- Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and program status
- Minimal travel is expected.
Requirements
- Level 2: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of applicable experience; OR 0 years experience with a Master's degree
- Level 3: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of applicable experience; OR 3 years experience with a Master's degree; OR 1 year of experience with a PhD.
- Active Secret clearance at time of application.
- Experience with requirements decomposition and requirements management
- Experience working with cross-functional integrated product teams
- Experience working through the Systems Engineering lifecycle process for system development
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, etc)
- Experience with SharePoint
- Expertise with MS Office tool suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
- Experience with Agile software development (PI Planning, 2-week sprint cycles, story pointing, etc..)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to project plan and execute
- Demonstrated independent planning, organization, and working in cross-functional teams with a customer focus
- Proven ability to manage Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) delivery from inception to completion, including providing technical expertise, ensuring alignment with software architecture, and drafting deliverable documents by leveraging a comprehensive understanding of the system's software architecture.
- Experience acting as a Deputy System Architect by supporting the primary system architect in defining the software architecture, facilitating design decisions related to software requirements, ensuring alignment with technical baselines and overseeing integration of critical components., * Experience with technical writing for specifications and technical baseline documentation
- Experience with MBSE Modeling (Cameo)
- Familiarity with PLM tools (Siemens, Windchill, Teamcenter)
- Familiarity with scaled compute cluster development, hypervisors, and network engineering
- Familiarity with Radar Systems and operations
- Familiarity with radar Blake Charts for operational performance analysis
Benefits & conditions
Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
