Job description
Our client is currently seeking a Security Analyst in Daytona Beach, Florida, to support cybersecurity monitoring, risk reduction, and incident response operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong interest in information security, compliance standards, and the protection of technology systems from potential threats. The selected candidate will work as part of a security-focused team to review alerts, investigate activity, and help strengthen the organization's overall cyber defense posture. This position requires strong analytical thinking, professionalism, and the ability to respond appropriately in a fast-paced technical environment.
The Day-to-Day:
- Monitor, analyze, research, and triage security events using a range of cybersecurity tools.
- Respond to security alerts and incidents to help reduce unacceptable risk to the organization.
- Support remediation efforts while helping mitigate remaining vulnerabilities or concerns.
- Promote proper implementation of established cybersecurity standards, including CIS Critical Security Controls, NIST, ISO, and FedRAMP.
- Assist with maintaining compliance awareness related to regulations such as GLBA, FERPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and FIPA.
- Perform authorized security testing, with proper notice and approval, to identify weaknesses in the organization's security architecture.
- Review technology-related risks and provide support in strengthening security practices.
- Help promote cybersecurity awareness across the organization to improve user understanding and reduce human-related security risks.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support secure technology operations and best practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate degree required.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field preferred.
- Information Security certifications preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT-related role preferred.
- Ability to monitor security systems, analyze alerts, and respond to potential threats.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation practices preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and written communication abilities.
- Must be comfortable working various shifts, including weekends when needed.
- Ability to perform sedentary work involving routine keyboard and mouse operations.
- Must be able to walk or stand occasionally and exert up to 10 pounds of force regularly.
