Job description
We're looking for an experienced and proactive IT Field Engineer to be based from our Maxim Park office in Motherwell, Scotland , to play a key role in delivering reliable, compliant IT services across our project sites. You'll be hands-on with network configuration, site setups, and technical support, ensuring seamless connectivity and minimal downtime for project teams.
This is a highly visible role, working closely with IT colleagues, project teams, and external partners to make sure technology enables safe, efficient, and successful site operations.
This is an office based role and requires 5 days a week in the office, with occasional travel to sites across England and Scotland. What you'll be doing
- Ensure robust network configurations and reliable connectivity across project sites.
- Provide prompt technical support and troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
- Facilitate effective video conferencing setups and other communication platforms for project teams.
- Manage site mobilisations and decommissions with attention to IT infrastructure needs.
- Oversee compliance testing of IT systems to adhere to industry and company standards.
- Engage stakeholders to align IT services with project requirements and timelines.
- Influence decision-making regarding IT service operations enhancements and innovations.
- Implement and manage cloud services, including M365, ensuring efficient workflow and data security.
- Maintain and update IT hardware installations, ensuring they meet project and operational needs.
- Address complex IT challenges and provide solutions that ensure project continuity and efficiency.
Requirements
- Knowledge of network configuration, specifically with Meraki technologies.
- Proficiency in M365 and cloud services.
- Experience with hardware installation and technical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with compliance standards and testing procedures in IT operations.
- Skills in stakeholder engagement and schedule coordination.
- Project Management experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Structured cabling experience would be advantageous but not essential
