Lead Technical Architect - AWS | Serverless | OAuth/OIDC | Node.js | JavaScript/TypeScript | AWS CDK
Location: Hybrid - Flexible, ideally 2 days per week in Manchester with occasional travel to other sites
Rate: £Please Quote per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months
Security Clearance: SC Cleared or eligible to undergo clearance
Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Technical Architect to join a delivery-focused engineering team. This is a hands-on role, suited to someone with a strong engineering background who is comfortable writing code and working closely with developers.
This position is more technical than a standard architect role, and is not suited to an Enterprise Architect.
You will be responsible for working with engineering teams to build internal platforms and tooling that developers use to deliver services at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-on technical leadership and architectural design
Building internal developer platforms and tooling
Working directly with engineers, contributing production-quality code
Designing and delivering cloud-native, serverless solutions on AWS
Communicating architectural vision clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Experience Skills
Strong experience writing production code using:JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, AWS CDK
Extensive AWS experience, particularly large, multi-account serverless architectures
Good knowledge of web-based authentication systems (OAuth/OIDC)
Deep understanding of modern cloud-native and serverless concepts (Essential)
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable - AWS Certification (nice to have but not essential).
