Job description
As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in driving asset reliability, maintenance strategy optimization, and long-term equipment performance. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the site's 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan, while leveraging advanced reliability tools and methodologies to reduce risk, improve uptime, and eliminate low-value maintenance activities.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct equipment criticality screening and risk analysis to identify and prioritize critical assets and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment
- Develop and implement Asset Strategies aligned with equipment criticality and business objectives
- Support the execution of the 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan, including asset availability tracking and performance improvement initiatives
- Select and implement appropriate Risk Management and Failure Management Strategies, developing Equipment Maintenance Strategies (EMS) for critical and BOP equipment
- Partner with the PPM Coordinator to optimize Preventive Maintenance programs, including:
- Evaluating effectiveness of existing plans
- Eliminating low-value PM activities
- Incorporating vendor data, RCM methodologies, and historical performance trends
- Ensure proper inclusion of maintenance requirements for spare parts and stored equipment to maintain asset integrity during storage
- Evaluate and implement condition monitoring technologies (e.g., predictive maintenance tools) to enhance asset performance and reliability
- Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance and inspection data within CMMS systems to enable data-driven decision making
- Monitor and analyze asset reliability metrics, including maintenance history, PPM performance, RCA outcomes, and production loss data
- Identify and prioritize reliability improvement opportunities using cost and performance data
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies using tools such as Weibull analysis and FMEA
- Implement effective corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide reliability and maintenance input for capital projects, including equipment selection, design reviews, BOM development, and PM strategies
- Ensure new equipment is properly integrated into reliability systems, maintenance strategies, and site processes prior to startup
- Conduct gap analyses between Asset Reliability Plans, EMS, and PPM programs to identify improvement opportunities
- Optimize maintenance strategies by eliminating low-value work while maintaining risk control across safety, production, and cost considerations
- Lead or support facility audits and equipment inspections to proactively prevent asset deterioration
- Partner with the PPM Coordinator to optimize spare parts inventory and equipment availability
- Champion the use of Management of Change (MOC) for all equipment and process modifications, At Lubrizol, we are committed to fostering a safe, high-performance, and collaborative work environment. In this role, you will:
- Work on-site within a chemical manufacturing facility, utilizing appropriate PPE
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Utilize CMMS systems, reliability tools, and data analytics platforms
- Participate in site audits, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement programs
- Operate within strict safety, regulatory, and operational excellence standards

Requirements
Do you have experience in Manufacturing company experience?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree in engineering?, * Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- 5+ years of experience as a maintenance, reliability, or project engineer within a chemical manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving reliability initiatives
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including:
- NFPA-NEC and NETA (or similar)
- Experience with equipment condition monitoring techniques, including:
- Infrared thermography
- Oil analysis
- Motor circuit analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
