Job description

You will join the workflow automation team, building a multi-tenant platform that powers business-critical processes for teams across Tesla. You will help re-architect the platform from the ground up so it can serve many tenantsat Teslascale, covering event ingestion, tenant execution engines, deployment orchestration, validationservicesand the management UI. We are looking for engineers who thinkinsystems and design for the next tenant, not just the one in front of them. What You'll Do

  • Design and build services across the platform, including event abstraction, tenant execution engines, deployment orchestration, graphvalidationand the management API layer
  • Migrate workloads off the legacy engine onto new tenant engines, one tenant at a time, without disrupting production
  • Decompose database hotspots and decide what belongs in a relational store versus an event log, cache, documentstoreor dedicated service
  • Own event flow correctness across Kafka and RabbitMQ, including routing, idempotency, replay and tenant isolation
  • Use LLMs and AI coding tools daily for prototyping, code generation, refactoring and debugging while taking full ownership of every linethat ships
  • Communicateblockers, risksand scope changes early so problems surface before they become incidents
  • Document architecture decisions and tradeoffs so the teamoperatesfrom a shared model

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to reason about a distributed system end-to-end, including event flow, failure modes, blast radius, couplingand ownership boundaries
  • Working knowledge of distributed systems concepts such as eventual consistency, idempotency, message delivery guarantees, partial failure, backpressureand observability
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent event-driven infrastructure, including consumer groups, dead-letter handling and schema evolution
  • Experience scaling relational databases past their comfortable limits, with judgment on when to shard, denormalizeor move data to a different store
  • Multi-tenant platform experience with isolation, fairness and per-tenant configuration treated as core design concerns
  • Daily use of LLM coding tools such as Claude, Cursor or Copilot, with the ability to read every diff, identifycode that looks correct but is not, correct or rewrite the model's output and own the result
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to raise issues quickly, defend a design choice and ask what problem is being solved before deciding how to implement it
  • Java, .NET, Camunda, Spring Cloud Config, Docker and MySQL experience preferred but notrequired
