Job description
The scope of work covers systems engineering, technical, and management support services for the government and its associated acquisition, technology, logistics, and program management offices. Support is provided to multiple stakeholders responsible for the development, integration, and sustainment of specialized operational capabilities. The scope of support includes program management, engineering analysis and design, configuration management, testing, quality control, sustainment, cybersecurity, training, and field service representative (FSR) support for a static collection capability that functions as a subsystem within a larger integrated system.
This is in support of the development, production, and sustainment of specialized intelligence capabilities. Configuration management and associated systems engineering activities are conducted through a collaborative effort among multiple government and partner organizations to ensure interoperability, performance, and lifecycle support.
A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. These products are often sophisticated systems that run on the web. The systems engineer is responsible to integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices.
Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including: specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance.
Systems engineering is like putting together a puzzle, matching varied pieces together to make one cohesive whole. Systems engineers are concerned with the "big picture" of a project in addition to technical aspects and must consider details like cost, schedules and social issues that may be associated with a project.
Essential Duties of the Job:
- Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
- Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
- Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
- Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
- Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be exposed to chemicals related to office equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (i.e. general office environment).
Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, * Ten (10) years with Master's or Fourteen (14) years with Bachelor's degree of professional experience overseeing the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. Individual shall have experience integrating various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance support. Individual shall have notable experience preparing and delivering presentations/briefing and have experience being the task lead/manager. Experience shall include Systems of Systems Engineering including but not limited to the integration, testing, and evaluation of COTS and GOTS products into existing SIGINT systems in accordance with DoD standards. Additionally, experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with familiarity in associated DoD and commercial standards.
- TS/SCI level Clearance required.
