Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SMT Technician with hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, programming, and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise across multiple SMT platforms, including FUJI pick-and-place systems, DEK screen printers, CAMALOT dispensing systems, KOH YOUNG SPI, laser marking systems, and ITW/VITRONIC reflow ovens. Experience working in a FUJI-based SMT production environment, including programming, optimization, feeder setup, and process tuning, is highly preferred., * Operate, monitor, and fine-tune SMT production equipment to ensure optimal quality, yield, and process stability
- Perform equipment setups, changeovers, and material verification across all SMT process steps
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on laser marking systems, CAMALOT glue dispensing systems, DEK screen printers, KOH YOUNG solder paste inspection (SPI) systems, FUJI pick-and-place equipment (NXT preferred), and ITW/VITRONIC reflow ovens
- Troubleshoot and resolve SMT process issues including solder paste printing, component placement, inspection, and reflow performance
- Develop, modify, and optimize SMT programs for FUJI, CAMALOT, and DEK equipment
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment and process failures
- Document downtime, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve OEE, yield, first-pass quality, and reduce scrap/rework
- Ensure compliance with ESD protocols, safety standards, and all manufacturing procedures
Requirements
Do you have experience in Surface mount technology?, * 2+ years of hands-on experience in SMT manufacturing environments
- Strong working knowledge of laser marking systems, CAMALOT dispensing equipment, DEK screen printing systems, KOH YOUNG SPI systems, FUJI NXT pick-and-place systems, and ITW/VITRONIC reflow ovens
- Experience in a FUJI SMT environment, including feeder setup, calibration, offsets, recovery, and basic maintenance
- SMT programming experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and component datasheets
- Solid understanding of manufacturing metrics including OEE, downtime, and first-pass yield
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, * IPC certifications (IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001)
- Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction), line setup, and production ramp-up activities
- Advanced troubleshooting experience with FUJI vision systems, placement accuracy, vacuum systems, and alignment calibration
- Familiarity with SPC tools and structured problem-solving methods (5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto analysis), * How many years of SMT manufacturing experience do you have?
