Job description
The IT Project Coordinator will be a member of the Stony Brook Medicine IT PMO Team and will report to the Director, IT Program Manager. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment as part of multi-disciplinary project teams implementing IT solutions focusing on Outpatient Physician and/or Outpatient Hospital Practice Expansions. These expansions include, but are not limited to, the opening of new practice locations, moves of existing practices to new locations, and breakdowns of practice locations. The successful candidate will bring a balance of creative problem-solving and hands-on IT Project Management skills. Duties may include the following but are not limited to:
- Support the Program and/or Project Management team in various project activities.
- Gather project updates and document project status reports.
- Maintain project plan and schedule.
- Create meeting agendas, document meeting notes, including action items, tasks, issues, and key decisions.
- Manages action items, issue logs and deliverables from internal and external team members.
- Proactively identify issues that may affect the project and work with Project Management team to develop and implement solutions.
- Document process flows and identify gaps and business process changes.
- Assist with business requirements documentation.
- Assist with risk analysis and monitoring and updating risk plans.
- Assist with application testing.
- Assist with data conversion and cleansing.
- Assist with reporting requirements and design.
- Assist with project costing, invoices, and reconciliations
- Provide documentation and training to transfer knowledge and operational support to the affected areas of operations and the Project Team.
- Provide administrative support to Information Technology PMO.
- Support Project member onboarding tasks as needed.
- Various procurement and service startup tasks associated to the project plans.
Requirements
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Health Science and/or Applied Health Informatics or related field will ensure that the incumbent has the conceptual skills required for this role. Experience in a Healthcare environment preferably with working knowledge of IT or Project Management. Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or internship with a Project Management Office. Understanding of Project Management SDLC methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall. Understanding and/or experience with Workflow documentation., * Experience with Cerner EHR.

- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of presentation design, template usage and presentation delivery
- Ability to work flexible hours during Project Go Lives.
- Ability to use telecommunication features or applications such as WebEx or Skype.
- Master's Degree in Applied Health Informatics., Must be able to sit for long periods of time, and must have manual dexterity to work computer systems and keyboard.
