Job description

  • Write code that is clear, well-tested and modular.
  • Architect features and services with a mind towards operability and scalability.
  • Assist game teams with technology choices and follow through with implementation.
  • Mentor more junior engineers via paired programming and code reviews.
  • Work with project managers inside and outside our studio to deliver features to players.

Potential Roles and Growth Paths (Choose One)

  • Tech Lead - Lead a tech team through mentorship, setting code standards, and designing and building systems.
  • Engineering Lead - Hire, manage, and mentor a small group of engineers while maintaining client relationships and code familiarity.
  • Tech Area Expert - Apply subject-matter expertise as a solo strike team focused on solving tech issues, advising client teams, and designing systems in your domain.

Requirements

  • A passion for games and entertainment that shows. Whether you love video games, board games, cosplay, or freeze tag - we want to know! If it doesn't shine through your resume (e.g. work, academic, or community experience), please submit a cover letter
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of professional backend services experience
  • Experience writing backend services in an established framework (e.g. Java Spring, ASP.NET, Node.js, Django or similar)
  • Experience with cloud computing and cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with a strongly-typed programming language (C#, Java, C++, or similar), This position is open to candidates living and working throughout Latin America. Applicants must be fluent in English, willing to work according to US time zones (must be available 8am - 3pm Pacific Time), and have a strong, stable internet connection conducive to remote work and video calls. Outside the US, we work with an Employer of Record (deel.com) to hire full-time employees. This works very similar to how employees would work for a company based in their home country. Note that work authorization in the country you will work from is still required.

Benefits & conditions

Compensation

Colombia - COP$12 000 000 - 22 250 000 per month

Brazil - 18 500 - 32 500 BRL per month

Mexico - MX$70 000 - 140 000 per month

Chile - CLP 3 800 000 - 5 750 000 per month

For other Latin American countries, pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
