A day in the life

As a full stack engineer, you will work closely with designer, product managers, accessibility team, stakeholders, and software developers in partner teams to develop services and web applications. Each day you come into work, you get to learn from some of the smartest people in the world, solve hard and interesting problems, and help move the needle at Amazon scale. You will take direct action to improve customer experience by fixing bugs and performance issues, improving diagnostics and metrics, investigating customer-reported bugs, and listening to user feedback. Working with your teammates, you will discover solutions that delight customers and you will deliver software using Agile practices, which makes a positive impact in the everyday life of Amazonians.

Our engineers use technology to solve complex problems across all Amazon ecosystem, collaborating with team members in and across teams. They have the responsibility to improve and build new tools, services, and applications. Taking a business problem from conception and designing, developing and deploying software solutions while holding a high bar for code quality and their craft, is at the heart of how they make impact. They have a responsibility to deliver on schedule using current software engineering best practices.

Requirements

We are looking for scale-focused and customer-obsessed full-stack developers with strong computer science fundamentals, including web application development, data structures, object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis. If you're thrilled by the idea of ownership, passionate about creating new applications and features from scratch and comfortable with the pace of a company shipping software in cycles measured in weeks not years, we would love to connect with you., 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience

  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
