The Special Programs is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer (LdSE). You will report to the program area Lead Systems Engineer and work closely with Chief Engineers and program managers, IPT leads and engineering leads to drive technical excellence and mission success. Additionally, you will lead systems engineering transformation efforts, including Digital Engineering and MBSE.
What You Will Be Doing As an Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for managing the technical response for new proposals and working with the technical team to generate estimates and conduct independent technical reviews.
- Ensuring the system aligns with strategic goals of the program
- Leading cross-functional engineering activities, including trade studies, system analyses, configuration control, verification planning and execution, affordability considerations, and risk and opportunity management
- Collaborating with customers, integrating and testing planning and execution, and participating in major design reviews
- Works closely with program management, functional leads and chief engineer to mitigate risk and execute programs on cost and on schedule.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering activities in support of missile programs, including but not limited to trade studies, system analyses to bound requirements and finalize the architecture, configuration control of the technical baseline, verification planning and execution, affordability considerations, and risk and opportunity management.

Experience required includes DoD tactical system development program experience, customer interface, requirements derivation/allocation, integration and test planning and execution, understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and their application, and participation or leadership in major design reviews.

Experience in Systems Engineering input for Proposals and development of basis of estimates (BOEs)
