The Information Security Administrator, Sr. serves as the primary cybersecurity lead for Phoenix College. This role is responsible for the strategic implementation, management, and monitoring of security protocols to protect the college's digital assets. This position also acts as a critical bridge between Phoenix College's specific operational needs and the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) security standards., 25% - Security Leadership Lead the design and execution of college information security strategies, ensuring all Phoenix College systems and networks align with institutional standards and compliance requirements.
25% - Risk Assessment Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments of college-specific applications and infrastructure, and work with the IT team members to proactively mitigate threats.
20% - Compliance Ensure the college remains compliant with federal and state regulations, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
10% - District Coordination Serve as the formal liaison to the MCCCD Office information security personnel, ensuring Phoenix College participates in district-wide initiatives and adheres to centralized security policies.
10% - Incident Response & Management Act as the "first responder" for security breaches or vulnerabilities at the college level, coordinating containment, investigation, and recovery efforts.
10% - Training & Advocacy Promote a culture of security awareness across the campus by educating faculty, staff, and students on best practices and emerging cyber threats., Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment. Work may involve crouching under desk workstations to install computer hardware and carrying, moving, or positioning various computer components, such as a laptop or PC, computer monitors, or other related equipment. Travel: Work may involve travel throughout the District or to adjacent areas.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Computer hardware?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, information security, computer science, cybersecurity, or network security, and three (3) years of technical experience in the support of networks, systems, and technology security.
OR
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or certifications sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Technical certifications may be used towards the substitution of the above-mentioned requirements for education and/or experience. Substitution amounts for certifications are based on the duration of time it takes to obtain the certification, the difficulty to obtain the certification, and/or the desirability of the certification as related to the business needs of the assignment., 1. Experience with security tools and technologies, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), vulnerability management, and endpoint security solutions
- Fundamental understanding of networking; Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (CP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Virtual Private Network (VPN), Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), and/or routing concepts
- Experience with security frameworks such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
- Experience with firewall security assessments and best practices
- Experience in understanding server and system management; Virtual Machine (VMWare), Windows Server, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), etc
- Experience writing policies and standard operating procedures around information security
- Industry certifications such as Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- One (1) year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two (2) years

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: 1. Possession of a valid State of Arizona Driver License (Class D) may be required for some assignments.

Positions in this class typically require: typing, talking, walking, crouching, carrying, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Manual dexterity to operate and manipulate/install/move computers and computer hardware components is required.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
