Job description
We provide managed IT services to schools across Bournemouth and Poole. We're looking for an experienced, hands-on engineer to be based at one of our school sites, taking ownership of the network and infrastructure, as part of a supportive wider team.
This role is as much about people as it is about technology. You'll be a visible, trusted presence in the school - approachable and customer-service driven.
The Role
You'll be the on-site technical, responsible for the day-to-day support of the IT environment.
You'll report to the IT Manager and have a senior team behind you for escalation and project support, but on site you're the person staff come to and rely on.
You'll know the environment inside out, build genuine relationships with staff and students, and see problems through to resolution.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Network infrastructure?, A friendly, patient, customer-focused approach
Excellent communication with non-technical staff, with the ability to explain things clearly and manage expectations well
Able to provide oversight, progress tickets and direction, and ensure the onsite team progress both support and innovative projects
Experience in schools or education desirable
Several years' hands-on IT experience, with real depth in network and infrastructure work
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, Hyper-V, Cluster Environments, Network Switching, Microsoft 365 and Intune
VOIP, Wifi, Filtering
Confident across networking - DHCP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, Wi-Fi and troubleshooting
Comfortable owning and progressing project tasks, from scoping and procurement through to delivery
Awareness of data protection responsibilities, including supporting Subject Access Requests
Full UK Driving License
