Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has the privilege and responsibility of being the primary point of contact for students seeking admission to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as undergraduates. In its role evaluating first-year and transfer students, the office works tirelessly to identify, recruit, admit, and welcome students who will positively contribute to our campus, state, and nation. The office also supports students by providing academic counseling, sponsors hundreds of events encouraging students to further their education, and works to enhance the image of the University locally and nationally. Members of the office understand that their work is intensely public and is closely followed by students and their families; secondary-school teachers and administrators; University faculty and staff; lawmakers; and media., The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a creative, committed, and clear-minded professional to fill a temporary Application Evaluator position in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Application Evaluator will read student applications and make admission decisions for first year and transfer candidates. This is a six month temporary appointment during which the candidate will work an average of 30 hours per week from October through March. The Application Evaluator will have the same authority to commit the University to an admission decision that is currently exercised by Assistant and Senior Assistant Directors of Admissions. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
