Job description

Caterpillar IT is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our AWS Cloud team. In this role, you will work alongside both peer engineers and cloud architects to focus on creating foundational buildouts, CI/CD solutions, and cybersecurity efforts to support our internal partners' needs. We have a focus on developing the next generation of IT professionals where you will gain a foundational knowledge of the manufacturing industry, as well as, key technology trends.

What you will do:

  • Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure and platform services, supporting enterprise-scale workloads.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, application teams, and security partners to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions following AWS best practices.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using infrastructure-as-code and scripting approaches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and system issues in a globally distributed cloud environment.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives. (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)
  • Contribute to documentation, foundational standards, and continuous improvement efforts across the AWS team.

Requirements

  • Cloud Experience: Working knowledge of designing, building, and supporting solutions on AWS, specifically focusing on container & serverless concepts: EKS, ECS, Lambda, and Docker
  • Source Control & CI/CD: Working knowledge of platforms like GitHub and Azure DevOps to create/manage/troubleshoot code, automate builds, and support reliable deployment workflows.
  • Automation & Scripting: Experience developing automated solutions to deploy infrastructure, cloud workloads or integrations using scripting and configuration languages such as Python and YAML

Top candidates will have:

  • Relevant degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience supporting AWS cloud services
  • AWS cloud services experience: EKS, ECS, Lambda, and Docker
  • Technical curiosity, actively exploring new approaches to improve solutions with minimal supervision
  • AWS Associate level certification(s) or greater
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in problem solving and customer service skills

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
