Job description
SHERLOQ is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance our FACS platform, SQL environment, and overall IT infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges across systems, cloud, virtualization, and application environments while helping drive reliability, performance, and operational efficiency across the organization. This is a hands-on engineering role focused primarily on infrastructure, systems administration, platform support, and automation rather than end-user help desk support. What You'll Do
- Support, maintain, and enhance the Ontario Systems FACS platform and related integrations
- Program and manage inbound/outbound file processes based on client specifications
- Troubleshoot system, interface, and data processing issues
- Develop, test, and deploy system and application changes
- Maintain and improve existing programs, automations, and interfaces
- Work with leadership to identify system improvements and infrastructure enhancements
- Maintain documentation for systems, integrations, and technical processes
- Manage VMware virtual environments including ESXi and vCenter
- Configure and support Windows Server systems and virtual machines
- Administer Azure resources including virtual machines, networking, and storage
- Monitor infrastructure performance, backups, and overall system health
- Troubleshoot networking, VPN, and connectivity issues
- Support security, compliance, MFA, and access management initiatives
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, IT engineering, or related roles
- Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments including queries and troubleshootin
- Experience with VMware environments including VM provisioning, storage, and networking
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments
- Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure and Azure administration
- PowerShell or other scripting/automation experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ontario Systems FACS or similar account management/collections platforms
- Experience with storage systems such as SAN/iSCSI or Nimble
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and security best practices
- Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports, or Power BI
- Experience with batch processing tools such as WinBatch
- Experience with Entra ID including MFA, Conditional Access, and user management
Benefits & conditions
