Job description
The Director, Cloud Infrastructure & Monitoring, will be working with different teams collecting/analyzing requirements and design solutions, will oversee and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and efficiency. This role involves implementing cloud-based solutions, managing resources, and providing technical support to enhance business operations. Build a secure, well-instrumented, highly available, and automated reproducible infrastructure both in the cloud and on-prem. High level technical understanding in multiple disciplines within Infrastructure and all facets of other IT areas. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Candidate must have in-depth, hands-on technical skills in Infrastructure and network, as well as an understanding of how these backend technologies serve frontend applications, corporate functions and business processes effectively. He/she is responsible for implementing and adhering to IT standards, processes and promoting the knowledge across the team to precisely develop and support solutions to align that with department goals and objectives.
This candidate works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on all infrastructure related projects and support activities.
The candidate ensures adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate., * Expert technologist within infrastructure team in planning, designing, delivering and enhancing IT solutions specifically in PTC's cloud infrastructure.
- Design and develop blueprints for the implementation of new solutions.
- Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources and services.
- Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of infrastructure.
- Analyzes system requirements and ensures that systems will be securely integrated with current applications. Has a deep understanding of system implementation on-prem and in the Cloud including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and applications.
- Understanding emerging technologies is a key to this role
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure and services.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing systems.
- Optimize cloud/on-prem usage and costs by implementing resource management strategies.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud/on-prem configurations and processes.
Requirements
- Hands-on skills with a proven track record of building and managing distributed, enterprise-class software and cloud infrastructure tools and systems along with the knowledge and willingness to stay on top of the latest industry products and technologies to constantly drive efficiency
Knowledge of and experience in:

Entra and Oracle Identities/roles management, MS Active Directory, OKTA identity management

Microsoft Azure Sentinel configuration and management
-
Microsoft Windows/Linux platform administration including patching and upgrades

Storage, backup and DR services within PTC's cloud and On-prem footprint (SAN, NAS, etc.)

Extensive experience with O365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, etc.) and other SaaS applications

Expertise of network and communications architecture, hardware and protocols including, but not limited to, routers, switches, VPN and Wireless

Thorough knowledge of server and client-based technologies including virtualization, VDI, Mobile Device Management, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, SQL, Oracle, business application software and disaster recovery

Experience in Pharmaceutical validated system is strongly preferred

Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills to assess and recommend technology and technical solutions

Demonstrated experience in executing/delivering cross functional projects in a dynamic, fast-paced matrixed environment

Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.

Bachelor's degree in information technology management, Computer Science, or related discipline or a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in information technology roles

Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior IT leadership including the Head of IT/CIO.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.

An analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Excellent planning, organization and time management skills include the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, and/or Oracle Cloud Certified Associate.

Experience with automation and orchestration tools.

Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipeline practices and tools.

Benefits & conditions
Expected Base Salary Range: $189,600 - $238,600. The base salary offered will be contingent on assessment of candidate education level, background, and experience relative to the requirements of the position they are being considered for, as well as review of internal equity.
In addition to base salary, PTC employees are also eligible for short- and long-term incentives. All eligible employees may also enroll in PTC's medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings plans.
