Job description

Senior Data Engineer - Contract | Financial Services | £500 - £600 per day -Snowflake/ DBT/AWS We're partnering with a leading Reinsurance company to find a Senior Data Engineer for a contract engagement within their Divisional Data Team. You'll play a central role in shaping and delivering the data engineering infrastructure that powers reporting and analytics across the business. The RoleYou'll work closely with technology and business stakeholders, owning the end-to-end design, implementation, and support of data pipelines and transformation workflows. Reporting into senior data engineering leadership, working on both hands-on technical delivery and the ability to help the team mature its practices. What You'll Be DoingDesigning and implementing scalable data pipelines and transformation workflowsBuilding and maintaining a modern cloud data warehouse environmentWorking with stakeholders to translate functional requirements into robust technical designsDriving code quality through peer reviews, testing, and best practice standardsIdentifying and implementing improvements to existing systems and processes

Requirements

What We're Looking ForStrong, proven experience as a Data Engineer in a commercial settingSolid SQL skills and hands-on experience with SnowflakeClear working knowledge of dbt for data transformationExperience with at least one ETL/ELT tool (e.g. Matillion, Fivetran, Glue, Informatica)Familiarity with cloud platforms - AWS and/or Azure DevOpsUnderstanding of data modelling, orchestration, and data curation principlesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and version controlStrong communication skills - able to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders If of interest feel free to apply below!
