Job description

As a Senior Software Engineer in Search Experience Engineering, you will build modern full stack applications and customer facing experiences that shape how customers discover and shop for holidays.

This is a full stack role with stronger emphasis on frontend engineering, performant web applications and customer experience. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, designers and analysts to deliver high quality solutions that improve customer outcomes and business performance.

What you'll be doing day to day

At On the Beach, our Search Experience Engineering team builds the customer journeys that help millions of people discover and book their perfect holiday.

From search and discovery to personalisation and package customisation, we create fast, intuitive and high performing experiences that make finding the right holiday feel effortless.

This is a role for engineers who care deeply about customer experience, product thinking and engineering quality at scale.

You'll be a great addition to our team if you have the following skills, knowledge and experience

We are looking for engineers with strong full stack fundamentals, product thinking and curiosity to learn.

You will likely have experience in:

  • Building scalable full stack applications and customer facing platforms
  • Strong frontend engineering skills using modern web technologies and frameworks
  • Developing backend APIs and distributed systems
  • Building performant, accessible and reliable user experiences
  • Working with cloud native technologies and modern engineering practices
  • Using experimentation, analytics and customer insights to guide decisions
  • Collaborating closely with product, design and commercial teams
  • Making pragmatic engineering decisions in fast moving environments
  • Interest in AI assisted engineering, agentic coding workflows and modern developer tooling

Experience with React, TypeScript, .NET, APIs, AWS and observability tooling is beneficial.

After a call with our Talent Acquisition Team, We will run a 3 stage interview process all on Microsoft Teams, Which will consist of:

Hiring Manager meet & greet - 30 Minutes Behavioural & ways of working - 60 Minutes Tech Pairing & System Design - 90 Minutes
