Purpose: The Senior Manager, Competitive Intelligence & Insights - Cardiopulmonary Therapeutic Area is a key functional role responsible for shaping pipeline, portfolio, and commercialization decisions through deep competitive understanding across cardiovascular and pulmonary disease areas.
This role leads end-to-end competitive intelligence activities-spanning late-stage assets through early scientific innovation-and transforms complex data into clear strategic implications, decision scenarios, and actionable recommendations. The position partners closely with Disease Area Strongholds, Commercial, R&D, Market Research, Forecasting, and Business Development teams to ensure leadership decisions are grounded in a comprehensive and forward-looking view of the competitive landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Competitive Landscape Assessment & Strategic Insight

Lead comprehensive assessment of the global competitive landscape across Cardiopulmonary disease areas, including:

Competitor pipeline progress, clinical trial designs, timelines, recruitment status, and data readouts

Gather, interpret and summarize insights from competitor earning reports and investor calls

Emerging development strategies and go-to-market models
-
Synthesize competitive intelligence into clear strategic implications, risks, and opportunities for pipeline and in-market assets

Develop and communicate actionable recommendations to key stakeholders, ensuring decisions reflect current and future market dynamics

Lead competitive scenario planning to support pipeline, lifecycle, and investment decisions
Scientific Congress Intelligence & Insight Generation

Own competitive intelligence strategy for key scientific congresses across Cardiopulmonary therapy areas

Develop integrated CI plans (playbooks) with defined intelligence objectives, priority competitors, and focus areas

Lead cross-functional and cross-regional debriefs to drive consistent interpretation, insight synthesis, and alignment

Ensure timely, clear, and impactful dissemination of insights to senior stakeholders
Market Analysis & New Opportunity Exploration

Monitor emerging science, targets, and mechanisms of action to identify early-stage competitive and external innovation opportunities

Conduct competitive due diligence to support early pipeline assessments and Business Development activities

Translate competitive insights into implications for Target Product Profiles (TPP), lifecycle strategy, forecasting assumptions, and to inform LRFP
-
Apply analytical rigor by integrating CI, market research, and secondary data to support data-driven decision making
Strategic Decision Support & Analytics

Utilize data, insights, and analytics to create strategic scenarios, option sets, and trade-off assessments

Enable faster, more aligned decision making by providing structured competitive perspectives tailored to leadership needs

Partner with Forecasting, Market Research, and Analytics teams to ensure competitive assumptions are consistent and transparent
Collaboration, Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across Therapy Area functions, regions, and advanced asset teams
-
Act as a trusted CI thought partner to Disease Area and Commercial leadership
-
Lead and inspire matrixed teams through regular competitive landscape reviews and forward-looking insight discussions

Manage external vendors supporting primary and secondary CI initiatives, ensuring quality, relevance, and timeliness
-
Lead with authenticity to build trust, promote a "One Cardiopulmonary TA" mindset, and reduce internal silos across development and commercialization pathways
Continuous Improvement & Capability Building

Drive enhancement of competitive intelligence capabilities, tools, and processes

Introduce innovative CI approaches to elevate organizational effectiveness and strategic clarity

Embed best practices that improve speed, quality, and impact of competitive insights across the TA
Requirements
- Master's degree in a scientific or related discipline required.
Required:
-
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in pharmaceutical competitive intelligence or commercial strategy

Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into strategic insight and clear recommendations

Experienced in the use of AI tools such as Copilot and LLM to streamline data synthesis, analysis and inform executive summaries

Strong leadership, stakeholder influence, and matrix-management capabilities
-
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with experience supporting senior leadership decisions

High learning agility and ability to rapidly build expertise in new disease areas or strategic topics
Preferred:

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
