Job description
We're looking for a Systems Administrator to join our Business Technology team with a primary focus on networking. You'll design, build, and maintain DISCO's office network infrastructure, strengthen our wireless environments, and help manage our identity and SaaS ecosystem. You'll also play a central role in several high-impact initiatives this year - from deploying enterprise AI tooling to building disaster recovery playbooks. Working closely with the Director of IT, you'll get hands-on ownership of core infrastructure while contributing to cross-functional projects that touch security, compliance, and business transformation. If you want a role where your work is visible and varied, this is a great fit., * Own and evolve DISCO's network infrastructure (Primary Focus): You'll take the lead on designing and maintaining our office and Forensics networks - including rolling out certificate-based authentication (802.1x) on the Forensics network, hardening network security controls, and improving wireless configuration across all office locations.
- Shape how we manage identity and access: You'll serve as a key Okta administrator, managing application integrations, lifecycle policies, and access reviews. You'll also build out monitoring and governance for privileged "break glass" access to sensitive SaaS applications, closing a meaningful security gap.
- Build secure handling procedures for forensics customer data: Working with the Director of IT, you'll establish the processes for how customer data media is received, stored, tracked, and encrypted - ensuring chain-of-custody integrity and reducing risk across the board.
- Play a central role in the rollout of AI tools across the company: You'll be a key contributor to the technical deployment of enterprise AI tooling, helping develop the policies and configurations that ensure these tools are adopted securely. This is a high-visibility initiative at the intersection of IT, security, and business transformation.
- Help build our disaster recovery playbook: You'll contribute to developing disaster recovery plans, runbooks, and SOPs for the tools and infrastructure we manage, then help test them to make sure they actually work.
- Keep our systems running and improving: You'll work alongside the IT team to administer, monitor, and maintain our broader environment - virtual and physical networks, engineering tooling, and collaboration platforms.
- Strengthen our security posture: You'll enforce IT security policies, conduct regular audits, and help ensure we stay compliant with relevant regulations.
- Be a go-to for tough technical problems: You'll provide escalated support for complex IT issues and coordinate with vendors when we need outside expertise.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or infrastructure management.
- Solid hands-on experience with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting - you're comfortable working with switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and wireless infrastructure.
- Experience administering Okta, including application integrations and lifecycle management.
- A good understanding of core IT concepts like mail flow, backup and recovery, network architecture, and Infrastructure as a Service.
- You're highly organized and detail oriented - the kind of person who builds processes that others can actually follow.
- You communicate clearly in writing, especially when it comes to documentation, runbooks, and policy implementation.
- You're naturally collaborative and comfortable partnering across teams like Legal, Compliance, and Security.
- You take ownership of problems and see them through, even when the path isn't fully defined yet.
- Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, wireless security, and 802.1x.
- Working knowledge of network security principles, including segmentation, certificate management, and access control.
- Familiarity with SaaS administration and privileged access management best practices.
- Broad technical knowledge of IT operations and infrastructure.
- Experience with low code or no code automation tools like Workato or Okta Workflows., * Experience with 802.1x network access control and certificate-based authentication
- Experience with privileged access monitoring and governance for SaaS platforms
- Familiarity with forensic data handling, chain-of-custody procedures, or a background in legal technology or eDiscovery. This is a niche area and we're happy to bring the right person up to speed. (Nice to have)
- Exposure to enterprise AI tool deployment (e.g., Claude Enterprise, Copilot, or similar). This is emerging territory for everyone - curiosity and good security instincts matter more than direct experience.
- Experience building disaster recovery plans, runbooks, or SOPs.
- Relevant certifications like Okta Certified Professional, CCNA, or CompTIA Network+.
- Experience with implementing information retention policies or data lifecycle management.
Authorization to Work in the U.S.: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. DISCO is not currently sponsoring visas, including, but not limited to, H-1B, TN, or EAD, and we are not accepting visa transfers.
