Job description

Under the direction of the Head of IT, manage and support our Microsoft ecosystem across identity, messaging, endpoint management, security, and cloud platforms. This role plays a key part in maintaining a secure, reliable, and well-managed environment leveraging Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, and Azure. The ideal candidate is hands-on, security-minded, and comfortable supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term modernization initiatives.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Identity & Access Management
  • Administer on premises Active Directory, including users, groups, OUs, GPOs, and DNS
  • Manage Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity environments
  • Implement and maintain MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC, and least privilege access
  • Microsoft 365 & Exchange Online
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Manage mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and mail flow
  • Perform message tracing, email security investigations, and service health monitoring
  • Manage licensing and service configurations
  • Endpoint & Device Management (Intune)
  • Manage devices using Microsoft Intune
  • Deploy configuration profiles, compliance policies, applications, and updates
  • Support modern device provisioning and lifecycle management
  • Security & Defender
  • Administer Microsoft Defender (Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity)
  • Monitor alerts and assist with incident investigation and remediation
  • Apply Microsoft security baselines and best practices
  • Azure Administration
  • Manage core Azure resources such as subscriptions, resource groups, virtual machines, networking, and storage
  • Monitor performance, availability, and costs
  • Support cloud initiatives and incremental migrations
  • Operations & Support
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Microsoft platform issues
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and runbooks
  • Collaborate with other IT teams on projects and improvements, education

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with emphasis in computer science or related field preferred. Education requirements maybe waived in lieu of more than ten years of progressive IT related experience. Must be willing to participate in on-going educational classes and seminars to maintain an appropriate level of technical and professional skills/knowledge required to successfully perform the duties of this position., * 3-5+ years of experience administering Microsoft environments

  • Strong experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Hands-on experience with Exchange Online, Intune, and Microsoft Defender
  • Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure
  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Strong understanding of identity, authentication, and security fundamentals, * Experience in hybrid on-prem/cloud environments
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust concepts
  • Microsoft certifications (MS-102, SC-300, AZ-104, MD-102)
  • Experience supporting compliance or security frameworks (e.g., NIST)
  • Familiarity with automation, monitoring, or backup solutions
