Job description

MTSI is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer tosupport the Systems Engineering Department (SED)at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.The Senior Model Based Systems Engineer will provide MBSE support for the Collaborative Mission Planning Continuum (CMPC) Integrated Product Team.CMPC is supporting the next generation of naval aircraft mission planning system. PMA-281 is responsible for the acquisition and life cycle management of a range of mission planning, control systems and execution tools that are developed and integrated in partnership with other NAVAIR program offices, other Services, and foreign nation customers/partners., * Hands-on MBSE capability, highly experienced building Cameo Systems models

  • Proficient and experienced with DoD system architectures.
  • Proactive MBSE engineer that performs tasks with little or no guidance and leads the execution of complex tasks.
  • Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise.
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.
  • Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles in an organization identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems.
  • Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems.

Requirements

  • 3-10 years of experience performing work described in the labor category functional description, along with a Master of Arts or Master of Science degree, or an allowable substitution;Must have a master's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university or a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional 4 years of recent and relevant experience.
  • Within the required 10 years of experience, the individual must also have:
  • A minimum of four (4) years of recent and relevant Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering/Digital Engineering applications and technology.
  • Experience using MBSE tools such as Cameo System Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, and Cameo Collaborator.
  • Other key skills:
  • Typically performs high-visibility or mission-critical work independently and may oversee the efforts of junior staff.
  • Preferred familiarity with Agile processes and Jira.
  • Strong software background is highly desired
  • Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
