Job description
QA Technician is responsible for all quality assurance testing in the ABS Plant. The QA technician will run analysis to ensure raw materials, process samples and finished goods meet all specified requirements in the Process Units and for the Customers. Completion of all Safety and Quality requirements are an essential part of the role.
Essential Functions:
- Perform sampling and physical and chemical testing of finished products and raw materials.
- Communicate effectively and thoroughly to management and peers any test results or inspection findings outside of specifications.
- Manage product hold and release system.(SAP, LIMS)
- Identify non-conformances in quality or practices and take or recommend appropriate corrective action within scope of knowledge.
- Conduct all laboratory testing with accuracy and integrity and ensures that it is accomplished in compliance with all ASTM, ISO, federal, state, and company policies and procedures.
- Collection, documentation, and destruction of retention samples.
- Keep accurate, complete, and legible records. Properly amend, identify, and file records.
- Conduct clerical duties including copying, filing, faxing, data entry, and document reproduction.
- Transfer product testing results from paper records to system database. (SAP)
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on in lab equipment.
- Safely handle/use/dispose of chemicals and waste. Potentially including hazardous materials. Read, understand, and maintain material safety data sheets.
- Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards.
- Accurately tests, analyzes, and report sample results.
- Review and maintain ISO / IATF documentation in team setting.
- Assist in maintaining cost levels of purchased lab chemicals & materials.
- Run verifications, validations, calibrations, and standardization of equipment used in the laboratory.
- Maintain a clean work space, General cleaning of work areas.
- Observe all OSHA and company safety policies.
- Must uphold the Jeong-Do Management(Code of ethics).
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SAP?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state and local regulations.
- Knowledge of gauging methodology and metrology.
- Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control.
- Ability to learn the use of all lab equipment and system needed to perform daily tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power point).
- Knowledge of gauging methodology and metrology preferred
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements preferred
- Experience in production and/or manufacturing, especially working with polymer compounding processes; familiarity with LIMS, SAP systems is a plus.
- Experience in laboratory equipment; familiarity with Injection machine, UTM, Melt indexer, Color meter, Izod / Charpy Impact Tester, Thermogravimetric Analyzer, Density meter, Hardness Tester, Gloss Meter, HDT tester.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience / Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in a polymer / compounding manufacturing plant preferred.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
