System Engineer - Data Center Operations Dallas, TX Long Term Are you a skilled Systems Engineer with expertise in VMware and Azure? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can build, maintain, and secure enterprise-level infrastructure? If so, we'd love to have you on our team ! In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our data center operations. You'll be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining our VMware and Azure environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and proactively optimizing our IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: * Design, implement, and maintain VMware vSphere Private Cloud environments, including ESXi, NSX, and vCenter across multiple data centers. * Configure and manage VROps, VRM, and SRM for disaster recovery, ensuring business continuity. * Provide technical expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. * Monitor and optimize system performance to maintain high availability. * Develop and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure, processes, and validation testing. * Support the planning and architecture of VMware environments, ensuring efficient and scalable designs. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy hybrid, cloud-native, and on-prem solutions tailored to business needs. * Serve as a final-tier escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving critical system issues. * Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows servers. * Configure, rack, cable, and maintain data center hardware. * Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support. Required Technical Skills & Experience: * 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting VMware and Azure cloud infrastructure. * Expertise in VMware vCenter, ESXi, NSX, SRM, VRM, and VROps. * Strong experience in Microsoft Azure and Windows Server OS. * Proficiency in networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols (TCP/IP, FCoE). * Deep understanding of enterprise storage, hardware protocols, and fabrics. * Experience working with patch management and change control systems. * Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices. * Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure with a creative and solution-oriented mindset. * Willingness to participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications: * VMware VCP-NV certification * Microsoft Azure AZ-104 certification * Experience working with Linux OS Education & Soft Skills: * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred). * Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. * Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). * Collaborative mindset and a team-oriented approach.
