Job description
The Network Administrator will implement, maintain, and support Pacific Life s growing network infrastructure. This role will also collaborate with our corporate security team to design and build security controls. Required Skills: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, * Implement products, platforms, software, hardware, or appliance-based solutions related to network and network security.
- Provides first level technical support to users concerning network operations.
- Diagnoses problems with network equipment and performs equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate.
- Consistently monitor and troubleshoot network stability and performance
- Interface with management and vendors to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Monitor organization s networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur.
- Use network tools for administration, maintenance, automation, and visualization reporting
- Develops technical documentation describing the deployment, configuration, and management of network infrastructure.
- Participates in IT security audits. Responds to existing audits and ensures required controls are implemented as required.
- Capability to handle on-call responsibilities
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in IT, configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS) Candidate must have LAN/WAN technical skills and experience with the following L2 and L3 protocols and technologies: STP, 802.1q, IPSec, DMVPN, BGP, OSPF, VPC, QoS, 802.1x. Be familiar with Cisco IOS-XE and NXOS. Candidate must be familiar with various platforms: Aruba Wireless, F5, Riverbed, Cisco (Catalyst, ISR, ASR, Nexus). Must understand open-source and other tools to assist in monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis. Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail One or more of the following certifications: Cisco CCNA or Cisco CCNP Flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends B.S/MS in Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent experience Desired Skills & Experience: Knowledge of Aruba ClearPass, SolarWinds and HPE routing/switching equipment is a plus.
