Job description
Cymorth IT is a Managed Service Provider supporting small and mid-sized businesses. We're looking for a Systems Engineer who enjoys variety - one day you're standing up a new client's M365 tenant, the next you're hardening a network for a CMMC audit, and the day after that you're troubleshooting a thorny Intune deployment. This is a generalist role., * Day-to-day administration of client environments: Microsoft 365 (Commercial, GCC), Google Workspace, Entra ID, Intune, and Active Directory.
- Deploy and maintain endpoints and network infrastructure: Windows servers and Windows computers, Ubiquiti UniFi networks, firewalls, VPNs, wireless.
- Configure and operate our security stack.
- Work alongside our CMMC practice - implementing technical controls, gathering evidence, and helping clients prepare for C3PAO assessments.
- Respond to escalated tickets, troubleshoot what the help desk can't, and document what you build so the next engineer can pick it up.
- Participate in client onboarding: discovery, design, migration, and turnover to operations.
- Contribute to runbooks, baselines, and our internal knowledge base.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, * 3+ years in an MSP, internal IT, or systems administration role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Conditional Access).
- Comfort with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and modern endpoint management (Intune or comparable MDM).
- Strong background in computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, networking standards, and network security measures.
- Networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, firewall rules, VPN, DNS, wireless.
- Clear written communication. Our work is documented; vague tickets and undocumented changes don't survive here.
- Reliable transportation: For clients in the Knoxville area, you may be expected to be on site at their location from time to time.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or DoD contractor environments.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP-authorized cloud platforms (M365 GCC, Google Workspace with Assured Controls).
