Job description
As an Associate Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting all failed hard drives and DIMMs. You will also be responsible for the installation of new SSD and NVME into existing servers. You will be mentored by level 2 data center technicians and assist them with various server maintenance tasks as necessary. You must have basic server component add/remove experience and entry level Linux troubleshooting skills. The quality of the work performed will have a direct impact on the stability and performance of our client's enterprise computer systems. Responsiveness and effectiveness during system outages are critical. You will be working directly with the local site supervisor, who will give you direction and assign your workload., * Troubleshooting and resolution of failed hard drives and failed DIMMs within server nodes
- Installation of new SSD and NVME hard drives into existing servers
- Troubleshooting and resolution of console connectivity issues
- Troubleshooting and resolution of all power supply and RDU (power strip) related issues
- Troubleshooting and resolution of all tier 1 server hardware break fix issues
- Respond to all system problems on a 24X7 basis and take part in on-call rotation
- Assisting Data Center Technicians in OS level troubleshooting and network troubleshooting
- Process (identify, tag, and prepare) all server nodes ready for decommissioning and prepare them for our third party ITAM vendor to pick up
- Ensure our client's data center house rules are being followed and immediately report any concerns to leadership
- Ensure our client's data center cleanliness, any issues with cleanliness must be reported to leadership
Requirements
- 2+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role
- 2+ years Linux troubleshooting experience
- 2+ years server hardware troubleshooting experience
- Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
