Job description
- Install, route, and manage structured cabling (copper and fiber) within lab environments
- Perform cable terminations, testing, and troubleshooting
- Label and document all network infrastructure to ensure clarity and traceability
- Rack, stack, and install network equipment (switches, routers, patch panels, etc.)
- Maintain high standards of cable management, cleanliness, and build quality
- Ensure all installations meet defined standards for reliability and scalability
- Support ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and reorganizations of lab environments
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support test setups and infrastructure needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of builds, layouts, and configurations
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure, cabling, or field technician roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Layer 1 networking concepts and execution
- Proficiency in structured cabling (Cat5e/6/6a, fiber optics, patch panels)
- Experience with cable termination, crimping, splicing, and testing tools
- Strong understanding of cable labeling standards and documentation practices
- Experience racking and installing network hardware
- Detail-oriented with a focus on organization, cleanliness, and quality workmanship, * Background in data center or lab environment setup
- Experience with fiber optic technologies and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with network diagrams and infrastructure documentation tools
- Basic understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts
- Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, CCNA, CompTIA Network+)

Pay Range*: $45 - $50 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
