Job description

An employer is looking for a Splunk team Lead to sit in Alexandria, VA. This candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient, reusable Splunk and Elastic dashboards and reports that integrate health, performance, and operational data from multiple mission applications. You will need to develop automated data visualizations and create user-friendly dashboards to improve visibility into log data, while configuring alerts and security rules to notify stakeholders and detect anomalous or potentially threatening activity. Other tools include Qmulos, Splunk, ACAS, HBSS, and Tanium to regularly assess, validate, and monitor security controls and the overall security posture at both the enterprise and system levels to support ongoing authorization efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.

An active Secret security clearance is required.

Issuance of DoD 8570 IAM II certification.

Splunk Core Certified Power User or higher equivalent certification.

Elastic Certified Analyst or higher equivalent certification.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences. Previous experience as a network intrusion analyst or in a Security Operations Center.

Experience in configuring and maintaining tools in a multi-tenant environment.

$60/hr to $65/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
