Job description
We're hiring a Application Developer to join a fast-growing Communication Platforms organization building next-generation conversational and telephony experiences used by customers at scale. This team owns mission-critical systems across voice, SMS, virtual agents, and contact-center integrations, and plays a direct role in shaping how customers interact with the business., * Design, build, and maintain high-availability, enterprise-grade applications supporting real-time voice and conversational AI use cases
- Develop AI-powered virtual agents that:
- Understand why a customer is calling
- Determine call disposition (routing, callbacks, human handoff)
- Operate with low latency for natural, human-like interactions
- Stream and process live voice data in responsive, resilient, and scalable systems
- Build internal tools for prompting strategies, call analytics, workflows, and orchestration
- Collaborate closely with product, analytics, and engineering partners
- Work across telephony services, contact-center platforms, SMS, and conversational workflows
- Own services end-to-end, including:
- System design and architecture
- Development and testing
- Deployment, monitoring, and production support
- Operate in a team-owned DevOps environment, including AWS and Kubernetes (EKS)
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-impact production issues with confidence and clarity
- Contribute to a culture that values ownership, collaboration, and high technical standards
Requirements
This is a true full-stack role with deep exposure to telephony, conversational AI, cloud infrastructure, and hands-on DevOps. Prior telephony experience is a plus, but not required-strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and the ability to learn complex real-time systems are highly valued., * Full-stack engineering experience with strong system design instincts
- Hands-on backend development using Golang and/or Python
- Experience with distributed, real-time, event-driven, or low-latency systems
- Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) and comfort owning DevOps responsibilities
- Proven ability to build, support, and troubleshoot production-grade systems
- Curiosity, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning complex domains such as telephony and conversational AI
Front-End & Platform Experience
- Modern web development with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
- API design and backend services development
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar)
- CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud-native development practices, * Experience with VoIP / telephony systems
- FreeSWITCH development experience
- Event-driven architectures and streaming systems
- Linux systems experience
- Infrastructure as Code (Chef, AWS CDK, Troposphere)
- OAuth2 / authentication & authorization flows
- CRM integrations
- Exposure to conversational AI, prompting strategies, or real-time AI systems

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agoura Hills, CA. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $72.11/hr.
