Job description

Our client is seeking a Healthcare Operations Report Designer to transform complex healthcare operational and regulatory data into clear, executive-ready reporting solutions that support performance management, compliance oversight, and strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for a data visualization and analytics professional with deep healthcare reporting experience, strong Tableau expertise, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operational, clinical, and compliance stakeholders to deliver meaningful business insights.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside on Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah.

Healthcare Operations Report Designer Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain executive-facing dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions that track healthcare operational performance, regulatory compliance, customer experience, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build intuitive Tableau dashboards and self-service reporting tools using data from enterprise warehouses, legacy healthcare platforms, and operational systems.
  • Partner closely with clinical, operations, quality, compliance, and business stakeholders to define KPI requirements, validate metric logic, and ensure consistent reporting standards across the organization.
  • Translate complex operational, regulatory, and performance data into clear visual narratives that support leadership reviews, operational decision-making, and compliance reporting.
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large, complex datasets for both recurring and ad hoc reporting needs.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify performance trends, operational risks, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement beyond standard reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to gather requirements, define reporting methodologies, identify appropriate data sources, and deliver analytics solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Support development of scalable reporting frameworks, automation opportunities, and self-service analytics capabilities that improve reporting efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure data accuracy, reporting integrity, and adherence to quality standards through validation processes, peer review, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and performance insights to leadership audiences in a concise, business-friendly format.
  • Contribute to broader analytics strategy discussions, including data governance, reporting standardization, and enhanced data utilization practices.
  • Mentor junior analysts or reporting team members on reporting best practices, data interpretation, and visualization standards as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, healthcare analytics, reporting, or data visualization roles, with a strong emphasis on healthcare operations reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience designing executive-ready dashboards and KPI scorecards in Tableau.
  • Strong healthcare industry experience, including familiarity with operational metrics, regulatory reporting, quality measures, appeals/grievances, utilization management, care operations, or health plan performance reporting.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience extracting, joining, validating, and analyzing large datasets across multiple systems.
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data ecosystems, including legacy operational platforms and cross-functional reporting environments.
  • Experience creating self-service analytics tools, interactive dashboards, and visual storytelling solutions for business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, SSIS, Alteryx, Talend, or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to move from descriptive reporting to actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Experience defining KPI methodologies, performance measurement frameworks, and standardized reporting practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or advanced analytics methodologies is a plus.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics tools or productivity technologies is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; advanced education is a plus.
