Job description

As a Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable networks across classified and unclassified environments. This role encompasses managing both on-premises and cloud-based networking systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and robust security protocols. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing network configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization while adhering to strict compliance requirements. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in highly secure environments and play a critical role in supporting mission-critical operations through cutting-edge technologies., * Manage the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN / WAN systems.

  • Assist in the planning for large-scale projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
  • Develop and maintain secure and highly efficient network architectures for both classified and unclassified systems.
  • Support implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of multiple systems.
  • Configure network hardware and software, including firewalls, routers, and switches, with attention to security and scalability.
  • Proactively monitor network performance and reliability, identifying bottlenecks and areas for optimization.
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, maintaining minimal downtime and effective contingency planning.
  • Deploy and maintain network security protocols in compliance with government regulations and DoD standards.
  • Design and manage networking solutions that integrate on-premises systems with cloud environments.
  • Ensure all systems meet regulatory requirements, performing audits and preparing documentation as needed.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to align network operations with organizational security goals.

Requirements

  • You excel at identifying causes of complex networking issues and implementing solutions quickly., * 5+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer or in a related field.
  • Extensive experience in network design and administration for classified and unclassified environments.
  • Installing, configuring, and managing network switches, routers, firewalls, and related devices.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, domain controllers, IP addressing, DNS, remote access, VLANs, and VoIP systems.
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking technologies (Azure, AWS, Nutanix, VMWare, or similar platforms)
  • Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, BGP, etc.) and security standards.
  • Familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF, STIGs).
  • Experience with enterprise-level network monitoring and management tools.
  • Proficient in traditional on-premises and cloud-based networking services, solutions, and tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an IT-related field such as Computer Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or AWS/Azure networking certifications are highly desirable.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a Secret DoD Security Clearance.
