Job description
We have the vision and the designs-now we need the architect to bring them to life. We are seeking a WordPress Developer to translate our completed designs into a high-performance, responsive, and easily manageable website.
The goal isn't just a static site; we need a robust CMS setup that allows our team to seamlessly input and update product details, descriptions, and media through a structured backend.
The Mission:
· Design-to-Code Translation: Convert ready-made designs into pixel-perfect, responsive web pages using clean CSS, HTML, and PHP.
· Custom CMS Architecture: Build out the backend (utilizing Custom Post Types and Fields) so that product data is organized and easy for non-technical team members to manage.
· Performance Optimization: Ensure the site is lightweight, "lag-free," and optimized for speed and core web vitals.
· SEO Foundations: Implement best practices for search engine visibility and clean site structure.
· Cross-Browser Integrity: Ensure a flawless experience across all modern browsers and mobile devices.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WordPress?, · WordPress Mastery: Deep experience with the WordPress ecosystem, including theme development and database structure.
· The Languages: Expert-level proficiency in PHP, CSS3 (including Flexbox/Grid), and HTML5.
· Backend Logic: Experience setting up Custom Post Types (CPT) and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create a tailored editing experience.
· Responsiveness: A "mobile-first" mindset with a focus on fluid, responsive layouts.
· Performance Tools: Familiarity with caching, image optimization, and code minification to ensure top-tier site speed.
What We're Looking For:
· Local Presence: You must be based in the Bayarea for in-person collaboration.
· Efficiency: You know how to build lean. No bloated plugins or unnecessary code.
· Independence: You can take a design file and a brief and return with a fully functional staging site.
· Strategic Thinking: You don't just follow instructions; you suggest "fresh ideas" for better UX or technical workflows.
· Detail Obsession: You care about the padding, the hover states, and the site's behavior on a 13-inch laptop vs. a 30-inch monitor.
Bonus Skills:
· Experience with product catalog management.
· Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks.
· Experience with API integrations or third-party service connections.
