Job description
- Lead end-to-end audit engagements as Auditor-in-Charge, including planning, scoping, execution, and reporting
- Oversee multiple audits concurrently, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to audit methodology
- Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness across data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle processes
- Partner with business and risk stakeholders to conduct walkthroughs, communicate findings, and drive remediation efforts
- Review and synthesize audit results, delivering clear, actionable insights to senior management
- Monitor key risk indicators and industry trends, incorporating regulatory developments into audit approaches
- Coach and develop junior team members, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and technical guidance
- Support regulatory exam readiness and ongoing issue tracking, including validation of management action plans
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in IT audit, internal audit, or risk management within financial services
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Background with a large financial institution or professional services firm
- Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk and control frameworks, and regulatory expectations
- Experience auditing data environments, including data governance, data quality, and data architecture
- Familiarity with modern data ecosystems (e.g., data lineage, ETL processes, cloud platforms, data lakes/warehouses)
- Ability to analyze complex issues, synthesize findings, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Exposure to data frameworks such as BCBS 239, GDPR, DAMA-DMBOK, or NIST
- Experience with data analytics, visualization tools, and risk reporting (KRIs/KPIs, dashboards)
- Relevant certifications such as CISA, CDMP, or similar
