Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance Manager to lead enterprise data governance initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency across cloud-based platforms while driving governance strategy, managing core data assets, and supporting full data lifecycle management., * Lead the development and execution of data governance strategies, policies, and procedures aligned to business objectives
- Manage a team of data analysts and data management professionals, including project oversight and prioritization
- Define and implement data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across systems
- Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across the full data lifecycle
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify governance needs and deliver scalable solutions
- Oversee data classification, access, sharing, and reference data management practices
- Implement data tagging, classification, and access controls to protect sensitive information and support regulatory compliance
- Maintain documentation of data assets, metadata, and lineage using enterprise data catalog tools
- Design and implement data quality processes including profiling and cleansing strategies
- Utilize and support governance tools while maintaining hands-on involvement with SQL and Python where needed
- Advocate for data governance best practices and promote a data-driven culture across the organization
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data engineering
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience
- Experience with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage tools
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance standards
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Deep understanding of data quality, governance, and compliance principles
