Job description
Humana's Enterprise Growth organization is seeking a Business Intelligence Lead who has strong experience with SQL, Power BI and Python/PySpark to join the Growth Analytics & AI Team. This is a remote role working anywhere in the US. As the Business Intelligence Lead, you will solve complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
Key Role Functions
Data Engineering & SQL

Clean, manipulate, enrich, and analyze data across ADLS, SQL Server, and Oracle

Establish curated, reusable datasets and semantic layers to power analytics and self-service BI
Power BI (Advanced)

Build enterprise-grade Power BI solutions with DAX, Power Query M, dataflows, and both custom and stock visualizations

Optimize models for performance; implement governance, security (RLS/OLS), and best practices for adoption
Python & PySpark

Design and operate ETL/ELT processes in Python (PySpark) for large-scale data cleaning, transformation, enrichment, and analysis

Develop applied NLP and GenAI features as part of analytics products and workflows
Data Orchestration

Orchestrate data pipelines using Databricks Workflows and Fabric Data Factory/Azure Data Factory (or equivalent)

Manage schedules, dependencies, monitoring, and alerting for reliable operations
GenAI/LLM Development
- Implement prompt engineering & refinement, embeddings, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), and evaluation/guardrails to deliver safe, measurable outcomes
Power Platform

Build or guide Power Apps (canvas/model-driven) to operationalize insights and streamline business workflows

Use Power Automate to automate routine, quotidian tasks and reduce manual work across teams
Leadership & Collaboration

Partner with business stakeholders and executives to shape segment-specific BI/AI strategies and roadmaps

Document architecture, lineage, and runbooks; mentor practitioners on best practices, Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 2 years of experience

Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations

5+ years' experience with SQL (ADLS, SQL Server, and Oracle) experience with cleaning, manipulating, enriching, and analyzing data

5+ years of Power BI experience with DAX, Power Query M, dataflows, and visualizations (both custom and stock)

Experience with PySpark, via Databricks notebooks, in the following capacities: ETL, cleaning, manipulating, enriching, analyzing, NLP and/or GenAI coding

Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs

Proficiency in verbal/written communication to senior and executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Microsoft Fabric experience

Data Orchestration (Databricks Workflows; Fabric Data Factory/Azure Data Factory; or equivalent)

Power Apps familiarity with canvas/model-driven app development

Power Automate experience automating routine, quotidian tasks

Benefits & conditions
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$117,600 - $161,700 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
