Job description

AdvantaStaff is looking to hire an IT Support Specialist in the Chester area. This is a temp to fulltime position with benefits including health insurance, paid time off, and more once eligibility requirements are met., IT Support Specialist is in charge of setting up, managing, and troubleshooting the technology systems of the business and the customer. They are responsible for maintaining computers, printers, networks, and other hardware components that support manufacturing operations, keeping the technology of their company in good working order, and accessible to customers and staff.

IT Support Specialists duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Tracking and handling incoming IT requests through the use of a ticketing system.
  • Accurately diagnosing issues by understanding user problems and asking clarifying questions.
  • Prioritizing multiple incoming support requests effectively in terms of urgency and impact.
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed IT documentation and knowledgebase articles for future reference.
  • Reviewing diagnostics and assessing the functionality and efficiency of systems that support operations.
  • Tracking inventory of IT equipment (computers, printers, peripherals) from procurement to disposal, including adherence to data retention policies and proper asset decommissioning.
  • Assisting in vendor communications for hardware repair, replacement, or new procurement.
  • Anticipating future needs and recommending replacement or upgrade of hardware components when appropriate.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Task prioritization?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Must have high school diploma or ged Must pass drug screen and background check Must pass basic reading, writing, comprehension test and personality test, *Experience: Must have at least one year experience working in an IT Support position or equivalent field. Knowledgeable on the installation and management of computers and related hardware components, such as printers for production and office use, camera systems, barcode scanners, etc. Knowledgeable on networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing. Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). *Complex Troubleshooting: IT Support Specialist must analyze and resolve unique, unusual, or difficult hardware, software, and network issues. Critical thinking and the ability to work under pressure are required. *Customer-Oriented Communication: IT Support Specialist must provide clear, professional, and patient technical support via phone or email, translating technical jargon into actionable steps for non-technical staff. Patience, empathy, and a polite demeanor are required. *Self-Discipline: IT Support Specialist must be capable of sustained attention on complex, often urgent technical problems without distraction. Focus, prioritization, and reliability are required. *Physical Activity: IT Support Specialist must be capable of lifting heavy equipment (up to 50-70 lbs), bending, crouching, crawling under desks, and standing for extended periods.
