Job description
- Meeting with stakeholders to identify solution requirements, provide progress updates, and to provide training
- Designing new datasets and authoring maps in ArcGIS Pro
- Designing new hosted datasets and web maps in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS
- Providing training and ongoing technical support
- Configuring web applications using ArcGIS Experience Builder, Story Maps, Dashboards, and Instant Apps
- Configuring mobile applications using ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and QuickCapture
- Assisting with the administration of our ArcGIS Online Organization
- Assisting with maintenance of our ArcGIS Enterprise deployment, including ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS
- Collaborating with the team on large-scale and Enterprise-level projects
- Writing Arcade expressions
- Writing Python scripts using the ArcPy and/or the Python API for ArcGIS to automate tasks
- Creating data integrations with non-spatial systems
Requirements
As a Geospatial Applications Senior on our Asset Management Technology Team, you will utilize your skills and knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS platform to provide geospatial technology solutions throughout our four-service (Water, Wastewater, Electric, and Gas) utility.
The primary responsibility of this position is the design, configuration, and ongoing support of mobile and web-based GIS solutions for internal customers. The Application Senior level is expected to possess the capability to design and implement solutions both independently and as part of a collaborative team., * Ability to work with stakeholders to develop GIS solution requirements, configure technical solutions, and train end-users
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Experience designing geodatabase feature classes/tables with ArcGIS desktop software such as ArcMap/ArcCatalog, and/or ArcGIS Pro (preferred), including the application of subtypes and domains, proper selection of data types
- Demonstrable experience with map authoring techniques in a desktop GIS environment, including symbolization, creating labeling expressions, writing definition expressions using SQL, setting display properties, and pop-up configuration
- Demonstrable experience authoring web maps in either ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal) and/or ArcGIS Online, to include symbolization, labeling, display properties, and pop-ups
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in writing scripts using Python (ArcPy and/or ArcGIS API for Python) and/or Arcade expressions
- Experience implementing and using one or more ArcGIS mobile applications such as Field Maps, Survey 123, Quick Capture, or Workforce
- Experience designing and configuring web-based viewing, editing, or reporting applications using one or more of the following ArcGIS Technologies: Experience Builder (preferred), Web App Builder, Configurable Apps, or Instant Apps
- Experience with Geometric Network, and/or Utility Network implementation and maintenance
- A Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field would be beneficial to the successful candidate, but not as important as real-world experience developing solutions for customers using the ArcGIS platform
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may be of only negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those is negligible.
- Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
