Job description
The MDVT Engineer will work under the direction of a senior engineer to participate in mechanical validation testing, including Shock, Vibration, Drop, and Thermal testing. This role involves hands-on setup of large network equipment test beds and documentation of test data., * Conducting environmental stress testing (Shock, Vibration, Drop, Temperature, Humidity, Altitude).
- Setting up and maintaining large network equipment test beds (must be able to lift 25 lbs).
- Supporting test engineering development and troubleshooting.
- Documenting test data into comprehensive test reports.
- Using hand and power tools to build or modify test beds., Execute system-level MDVT (including Mechanical Shock and Vibration, Altitude, Drop, Tipover, Humidity, Fit, Thermal, Airflow, Acoustic, HALT)
- Operate and debug the testing equipment and stations to resolve testing issue (environmental chambers, Network Traffic Generators, etc.)
- Provide detailed issue details and description, and drive issues to closure
- Write test report and document the test procedure and result
- Work cross functionally with hardware engineers to ensure robust test methodology and timely issue mitigation resulting in high product quality
Requirements
Do you have experience in UNIX?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Understanding of Mechanical and Environmental stress testing methods.
- Knowledge of hardware systems (PCB, heatsinks, mounting brackets, optical modules).
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand/power tools.
- Comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of IEC, ETSI, and MIL-STD standards.
- Experience with environmental chambers and shaker equipment.
- Basic knowledge of Cisco router/switch configurations and networking concepts (TCP/IP, L2/L3).
- Scripting knowledge., * Bachelor's (Required)
