Job description

We are looking for Data engineers to help build a state-of-the-art Data Platform in Google Cloud Platform at Xccelerated. Are you a Data or software engineer with experience in data pipelines, data platforms or data warehouse environments? Then join our Data Platform team! You will work together with experienced consultants and receive over 60 days of tailored training to maximize your learning and impact and boost your career.

About the role

Our data team wants to become an entirely data-driven organisation. To reach this goal, they are building a new, modern, Data Platform on GCP, which will be used to provide insights and (self-service) analytics to the company, The Data Platform will be built from scratch, and your team is responsible for its architecture, development and maintenance.

You will be a very crucial part of the team. In your day-to-day work, you will collaborate with the engineering and analytics teams and build components of the platform that enables the users to create scalable pipelines and deploy models in production.

The Xccelerated Program

  • You work 4 days per week as a Data Engineer at one of our partner organizations, where you design, build and optimize data pipelines that are actually used by the business.
  • Every Friday is dedicated to your growth: advanced training sessions, technical deep dives and project support from experienced Tech Leads, with a strong focus on data modeling, cloud data platforms, reliability and best practices.
  • By combining real client work with continuous coaching, you accelerate faster than in a traditional role and develop the confidence to take ownership of complex data challenges.
  • After successfully completing the first year, you transition into direct employment with the client, fully equipped to operate as a mature and impactful Data Engineer.

As a Data (Platform) Engineer you will:

Help the team with building, deploying and maintaining their new Data Platform (GCP)

Build components of the platform that enables the users to build scalable pipelines and deploy models in production

Maintain and develop infrastructure related to data

Collaborate with the Platform and analytics teams to ensure cohesive integration between systems and data models are in place

Requirements

You have a strong can-do mentality. You focus on results, have a desire to complete challenging tasks and learn while doing.

Next to this, you have:

A Bachelor/Master level education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cloud Computing or related field

2-4 years of experience as a Data Engineer

Familiar with industry big data platform stack (for example: Databricks, Spark, Airflow)

Experience in working on public Cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure)

Proficiency in Python
