Job description
You will be the primary lab person on our prototype tool. As subsystems come together, you drive the day-to-day work of getting them physically assembled, aligned, and measuring. You are the person who turns arrived hardware and a stack of drawings into a system that actually works on the optical table or as a prototype system.
Requirements
Concretely, you will: - Assemble and align precision optomechanical systems, from individual mounts up to full subsystem integration - Integrate motion stages, cameras, lasers, and sensors into working setups, and test and drive them - Design and execute tests for measurement uncertainty, repeatability, and reproducibility, and prove subsystem performance against spec - Write clear test protocols and maintain rigorous lab logbook that the rest of the team can rely on - Be the in-house hands-on debugging partner when something in the lab does not behave as expected Your profile - Hands-on experience assembling and aligning precision optomechanical systems - Comfortable working with motion controllers, cameras, lasers, and sensors, and integrating them into a system - Comfortable with Python for hardware control scripts and quick data analysis - Strong grasp of measurement uncertainty, repeatability, and reproducibility, and how to design and execute tests that actually prove those - Writing test protocols and clear logbooks comes naturally to you - You take ownership from a rough requirement to something that actually runs reliably on lab hardware - Full professional proficiency in English - BSc/MSc with 2+ years of relevant experience in the field of applied physics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering Bonus experience in any of these: - UV or DUV optical systems - Vacuum or cleanroom work - Interferometry, wavefront sensing, or o...
