Requirements

It is essential that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate the following:

  • A third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, or demonstrable equivalent relevant experience gained through relevant technical and engineering roles.
  • A strong understanding of power engineering principles and their practical application within an electricity distribution or utility environment.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering projects or complex engineering initiatives, with accountability for scope, programme, stakeholders and outcomes.
  • A high level of IT capability, including effective use of Microsoft Office applications and other digital tools to support analysis, reporting and project delivery.
  • Hold a current UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria It would be advantageous if you have any of the following:

  • A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile or similar).
  • Practical knowledge of smart grid technologies and an understanding of how they can be applied within an electricity network.
  • An understanding of electricity market design and operation
  • Experience contributing to or delivering innovation, trial or demonstrator projects, particularly within a utility or infrastructure environment.
  • Experience engaging with and managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards membership)
