Requirements
It is essential that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate the following:
- A third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, or demonstrable equivalent relevant experience gained through relevant technical and engineering roles.
- A strong understanding of power engineering principles and their practical application within an electricity distribution or utility environment.
- Proven experience leading and delivering projects or complex engineering initiatives, with accountability for scope, programme, stakeholders and outcomes.
- A high level of IT capability, including effective use of Microsoft Office applications and other digital tools to support analysis, reporting and project delivery.
- Hold a current UK driving licence.
Desirable Criteria It would be advantageous if you have any of the following:
- A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile or similar).
- Practical knowledge of smart grid technologies and an understanding of how they can be applied within an electricity network.
- An understanding of electricity market design and operation
- Experience contributing to or delivering innovation, trial or demonstrator projects, particularly within a utility or infrastructure environment.
- Experience engaging with and managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards membership)
