Job description

The post holder will report directly to the directorate's Executive Assistant and will provide effective and efficient business support service for the senior leadership team within the directorate. As the Business Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that effective end-to-end secretariat support for a number of Technology led meetings is provided by coordinating meetings and actions and ensuring governance requirements are met through the preparation of board and committee papers. You will work flexibly to cover various areas of wider responsibility to provide efficient, effective and flexible administrative support to the Technology senior leadership team and will actively contribute to the work of the wider team. You will be highly organised and proactive with the ability to work confidently under pressure, managing competing priorities and deadlines. There will be the opportunity to identify how to do things differently as we search for continuous improvement in how we work. Requirements

  • Experience of handling and actioning sensitive information on behalf of others.
  • Experience of working collaboratively across teams and influencing the behaviour and actions of others to complete work within timescales.
  • Understanding and successful application of expert administrative, organisational and IT skills.
  • Ability to plan ahead on the basis of known workloads, regularly reviewing and revising plans in response to changes in priority.
