Job description
The Systems Administrator will assist with oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms supporting infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs. The role includes daily operations support, maintenance, and administration for servers and ownership of medium to high complexity projects, systems, and issues across Microsoft platforms and a multi-cloud environment., * Support and expand infrastructure
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors)
- Recommend future server and software upgrades
- Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance
- Evaluate network performance issues (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, latency) and plan/execute selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment
- Define network policies and procedures; establish connections and firewalls
- Perform systems monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting; escalate problems to vendor as needed
- Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment
- Identify opportunities to refactor solutions for better performance, cost, and efficiency
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines
- Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings
- Recommend and assist with building and hosting complex application solutions
- Deploy and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services
- Support other IT staff, including developers

Pay: $75.00 - $90.00 per hour

- Describe your hands-on experience administering Windows Server (2012 R2/2016/2019/2022) and IIS, including a specific example of troubleshooting and performance tuning you performed.
- Describe your professional experience managing AWS cloud systems and services, including the AWS services you used and how you ensured security, availability, and performance.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows Server administration?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5-8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field
- 3-5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration
- 2-3 years experience with Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022
- 2-3 years IIS Administration
- 2-3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions
- 2-3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server products
- In-depth knowledge of Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu), including Linux administration and Linux patching
- Proficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architectures
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems effectively regardless of technology platform
- Ability to document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual work
- Ability to categorize work, set priorities, and determine short and/or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them
- Ability to effectively communicate and share knowledge with others (advanced interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills)
- Able to be trusted with sensitive information
- Work hours flexibility between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, including after hours, weekends, and on-call (rotation or regular on-call schedule)
- Candidate must reside in Tallahassee or the surrounding area and report to the office 5 days a week
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems
- 2-3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP
- 2-3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software
- 3-5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services
