Job description

We're looking for a Backend / AI Engineer to help us design, build, and evolve the backend services, data infrastructure, and AI-powered capabilities behind the next generation of Left Main products.

This role will sit at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and applied AI. You will help build scalable APIs, data pipelines, event-driven workflows, and GenAI-enabled product experiences that support initiatives across Left main CRM, DealSignals, DispoSignals, Data Insights, enrichment, and future AI-powered products.

You'll work closely with product, data, Salesforce, and engineering leaders to move more intelligence into our AWS and Snowflake architecture, create reliable services that integrate with Salesforce and external data providers, and prototype new GenAI use cases that can become production-ready product capabilities.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with meaningful architectural influence. We're looking for someone who is energized by experimentation, comfortable owning production systems, and excited to help define the future of our Data + AI tech stack., * Design, build, maintain, and optimize backend services and RESTful APIs that connect Left Main products, Salesforce, Snowflake, AWS, and external data providers.

  • Develop and operate serverless and cloud-native systems using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Kinesis, and related services.
  • Build reliable data-processing workflows for real estate data ingestion, enrichment, scoring, subscriptions, matching, deduplication, and delivery back into customer-facing applications.
  • Design scalable Snowflake-backed workflows, including SQL transformations, stored procedures, Snowpark or Python-based processing, and performance optimization.
  • Architect and implement GenAI and AI-powered product capabilities, including role-based agents, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt workflows, AI-assisted analysis, customer-facing copilots, and internal productivity tools.
  • Prototype new AI use cases quickly, evaluate technical feasibility, and help move the most promising experiments into secure, reliable, production-ready services.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce engineers to design integration patterns using Platform Events, APIs, async processing, and well-defined data contracts between Salesforce, AWS, and Snowflake.
  • Support predictive and ML-enabled use cases such as lead scoring, buyer scoring, property intelligence, recommendation workflows, anomaly detection, and customer insights.
  • Improve reliability, observability, and operational maturity across backend systems through structured logging, monitoring, alerting, automated tests, and clear incident response practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure automation, environment management, and deployment practices for backend and data services.
  • Bring ideas, technical curiosity, and product-minded thinking to roadmap discussions, architecture reviews, and innovation planning.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Teamwork?, * 2+ years of professional backend engineering experience building production-grade APIs, services, data workflows, or cloud-native systems.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python for backend development, scripting, automation, data processing, or AI/ML workflows.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and integrating systems through APIs, webhooks, event-driven patterns, or message-based architectures.
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS, especially serverless or cloud-native services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, or similar technologies.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
  • Experience designing systems that are reliable, secure, observable, cost-conscious, and maintainable.
  • Familiarity with modern AI and GenAI development patterns, such as LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, model evaluation, agent workflows, or AI-assisted automation.
  • Ability to use modern AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools to improve development speed, code quality, documentation, and problem solving.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, or deployment automation.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve and engineers are expected to own outcomes, not just tickets.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across product, engineering, data, Salesforce, and leadership teams.
