Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Linux System Administrator with active TS/SCI clearance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining complex Linux-based IT infrastructure, ensuring system security, stability, and performance. Your expertise will support mission-critical operations, requiring a proactive approach to system architecture, security protocols, and network integration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge solutions within a fast-paced environment that values innovation and precision., * Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems across multiple environments, including physical servers and virtualized platforms such as VMware and ESXi.

  • Manage system security by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and access controls aligned with information security standards.
  • Monitor system performance using tools that support load balancing, RAID controller management, and system health diagnostics.
  • Develop and automate system administration tasks through scripting languages like Bash (Unix shell), Python, and PowerShell to streamline operations.
  • Design and implement scalable solutions utilizing service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solution architecture that integrates databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and NoSQL databases.
  • Conduct regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and patch management to ensure high availability and data integrity.
  • Support systems engineering efforts by designing robust system architectures that incorporate virtualization technologies such as Kubernetes containers and VMware environments.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and incident reports following SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices.

Requirements

Do you have experience in IT infrastructure?, * Proven experience in Linux system administration within a secure environment requiring TS/SCI clearance.

  • Strong understanding of operating systems including UNIX and Windows environments with hands-on experience in system design and architecture.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP protocols, load balancing solutions, VPNs, firewalls, and network security best practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration, and automation frameworks.
  • Experience working with IT infrastructure components including RAID controllers, SAN storage solutions, virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi), and cloud services (AWS/Azure).
  • Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash shell scripting or Python for automation tasks; experience with PL/SQL or T-SQL is a plus.
  • Knowledge of solution architecture principles for enterprise systems involving RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and API management.
  • Background in systems engineering with a focus on system design for high availability environments supporting critical operations.
