Job description

What they are looking for…

  • Ensure the security and monitoring of the infrastructure and network.
  • Manage the IT Team, providing direction, escalation and mentoring.
  • Set the strategic roadmap for IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Manage the IT Budget and control spend.
  • Ensure that IT projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet the requirements of the business.
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
  • Maintain relationships with IT vendors of hardware, software and hosting providers
  • Ensure that data is backed up and stored / transferred securely.
  • Manage system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Own IT Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Ensure that relevant accreditations are attained and retained.
  • Maintain and develop IT policies, process and governance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, Established for over 30 years, this organisation are a pioneer in digital tech.

They provide complete solutions to deliver large scale digital projects. Their solutions help clients creatively transform their venues and deliver amazing experiences for their customers and fans.

Due to continued growth, and the development of the Services Division, they are now looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to join the team.

Working across all divisions of the company, you will be responsible for managing a small team, whilst taking a hands-on approach leading a variety of projects and being involved in the design and implementation of bespoke network and IT solutions.

The post holder will play a pivotal role in maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the security and monitoring of the infrastructure and network, setting the strategic roadmap for IT infrastructure and systems, managing the IT budget and control spend, whilst ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet the requirements of the business., Working alongside colleagues from across the business you will be involved in design and implementation of bespoke network and IT solutions across our client range.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years commercial experience in an IT Operations environment.
  • Firm grasp of IT infrastructure and operations best practices within an ITIL framework.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, data storage and phone systems
  • Strong project management and risk assessment skills with the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Proven track record of building strategic IT roadmaps.
  • Clear understanding and Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation.
  • Team management and mentoring of staff.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Leadership and organizational skills to provide direction, training and mentoring to the wider team.
  • Strong communication skills with evidence of building strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of Linux (CentOS/Ubuntu/Debian/Fedora) and Windows (Server 2008-2022) administration.
  • Evidence of implementing and managing backup strategies for physical and virtual environments.
  • Understanding of Database administration principles.
  • Knowledge of working with SAN / NAS technologies and filesystems.

Core hours will be Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.30am - 5.30pm., The successful candidate will have a strong record of prior experience in an IT Operations environment, a firm grasp of IT infrastructure and operations best practices within an ITIL framework, and an excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, and phone systems.

You will have excellent relationship management skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain long lasting connections, as well as being professional, confident and self-motivated with a drive and desire to achieve results. The post holder will also ensure they maintain a strong team work ethic with the ability to inspire colleagues and lead by example.
