As an Associate Director you will be in a client facing role from day one, conducting technical interviews and preparing documentation to support R&D tax claims. You will be working with senior technical and finance staff within our client companies where you will need to understand the nature of the work being performed and prepare high quality documentation to explain how projects meet the definition of R&D.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing technical data and documentation from clients to support the planning and development of R&D claim methodologies.
  • Conducting efficient technical interviews with clients' technical experts to understand their R&D activity and then summarising the output from these interviews in documentation for a non-technical audience.
  • Work within a project team to ensure that the appropriate costs linked to the client's technical activity are captured within the R&D claims.
  • Preparing clear reports for submission to HMRC to explain how our clients R&D claims have been prepared.
  • Provide technical input into marketing and sales activity based on your area of technology knowledge and experience.
  • Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
  • Project managing a variety of projects at any given time and being able to delegate and work with the technical and finance team around you.

Requirements

  • Hold at least a Bachelor level degree in an Information Technology related field (such as Computing, Computer Science or Software Engineering), or have equivalent levels of practical experience or industry certifications will also be considered.
  • You will have developed a technical expertise in at least one area of technology and/or software development.
  • Be a strong communicator, with good interpersonal awareness skills.
  • Be able to work within multi-disciplinary teams, taking responsibility for the technical aspects of R&D claims on the behalf of companies from a variety of sectors, as well as generating high quality technical reports.
  • Be technologically curious, having a critical engineering mindset and able to apply appropriate scepticism.
  • Be well-organised, able to manage multiple projects and handle conflicting demands in a timely manner.
